1. Detailed requirements for the use of Test bits in Quality (and handling it) and Simulation flags in SV/GOOSE (these were introduced in ed.2), as well as their relation to behavior (modes) of logical nodes and logical devices. Also the LDevice hierarchy was introduced in Ed2.
2. Major updates in SCL schema allowing to make a much better description of the system, i.e. facilitating use of 3-d party system configuration tools. Also starting from ed. 2 the conformance testing for ICT/SCT was introduced, thus improving interoperability between the tools.
3. Many new LNs were introduced, so vendors are now able to describe functions in IEDs with standard (not proprietary) logical nodes even better.
