It is very theoretical, abstract mathematics. Few programmers have that kind of education. Even basic abstract algebra is unknown to most people in this field, nowadays.
Also, Bartosz said that he doesn't want to participate in C++ conferences. Like he is tired to deal with C++
Yes, he is way critic about C++ from recent years. He is pushing haskell, he wants people to use haskell more. I think he is become tired about how the language is still at now
Me too :-) Learning math never ends. That's the beauty of it. Many russian mathematicians from the past, are those that I admire the most.
Nice :) There are great Russian mathematicians but I believe not that many as around the world. And even Euler was not really a Russian mathematician, just worked here
This is the latest HOPL paper. If you read it carefully, you can notice that he is somewhat disappointed about the lack of direction in the most recent progress with the standard

This is where we are aligned with him. I'm also pushing Haskell as I can
I was also interested in Lisp and its implementation, years ago. It is still a very advanced language, and many "modern" languages still borrow features in from Lisp even now
