Hello, I'm looking for the benefit to use SAP Power designer in a company. My customer is in the insurrance domain and asks SAP for an ETL. Answer from SAP is to use SAP Power designer. I'm seeking to find some documentation to see the benefit of this tools against competitor.

PowerDesigner (PD) is data modeling and metadata management tool that support overall model-driven architecture approach.
Enterprise Architecture modeling is covered also.
The most valuable thing in PD is high extensible metadata and ui, Template Language to produce any text-based output from the tool, traceability of any kind of metadata and PD models.
Regarding ETL you could find advantages in using Data Movement Model to document data flows as well as automatically generate SAP Data Services ETL.
Levereging GTL (generic template language) you are able to develop your own artifacts generation based of metadata stored in PD models and Repository.
Impact and Linage analysis feature allows you visualize and analyse traceability between various objects.

Добрый вечер! Есть кейс-логическая модель данных ведется в PD, а бизнес-глоссарий - в некоторой сторонней системе. Причем в этой системе так же ведется маппинг глоссария на таблицы и поля бд. Задача-регулярно актуализировать в логической модели PD связь с глоссарием. Какие есть возможности решения? Возможно ли настроить etl процесс обновления в бд репозитория или лучше использовать api толстого клиента?

Хотелось бы полностью автоматизировать этот процесс, а использование vbs скриптов я так понимаю возможно только внутри клиента, запуская их вручную, шедулера ведь никакого нет
