My client – A global technology company with offices in the UK and USA – are hiring a Scala Developer.
This is a contract position - you will work remotely from your country. The day rate range is dependent on experience. Currently, the team has 3 other Scala Developers who are based in across Europe. This job provides long term job security.
We require a good functional programmer, someone who is passionate about functional programming and good experience with the functional programming library, i.e. Cats, Scalaz, ZIO etc.
You need to have good web services framework experience, my client uses AKKA-Http but Play and Http4s etc is also fine. AWS is their preferred cloud platform.
You will work on highly complex data driven projects which support highly analytical, algorithm-based solutions.
Experience with Python, Kubernetes, Docker, AKKA and Algorithm’s are nice to have.

I’m currently recruiting for a Scala engineer with proven Scala experience needed for a leading UK tech company. They are looking for multiple contractors to start ASAP to work across 2 key projects – one on the consumer side, the other on production systems. They are experiencing a surge of business and are needing to rapidly add a software engineering resource to their two key teams.
The culture there is really open – they want people who are collaborative but also self-directed and driven. You’d be working under an awesome director of engineering who believes in really empowering her team.
Proven commercial experience in Scala is needed. You will be working in an AWS environment.
The role is fully remote. It would an initial 6 month contract but likely to keep on extending.
