1. In short, JVM is a “mini computer” running above your computer. This has a double effect in both computing power and manpower.
2. Kafka’s particular use, Zookeeper creates another overhead, since distributed computing is another expertise that many Kafka users don't have.
3. Redpanda it is written in C++, making it faster than Kafka, and easier to understand than having to learn Java and JVM.
