Stop asking for the best ROMs/Kernels (for battery, for performance or any other criteria), it doesn't exist. If there was one true best ROM/Kernel, do you think there would be other ROMs or Kernels?

There's only subjectively best and that's different for everyone. Everyone has different usage patterns & preferences, so when asking for the best, you get the best for them, not the best for you. The only way you'll find the best one for you is by trying them yourself. They're all free, anyway.

In case you come across a bad idle drain (above 2%) then follow these steps.

1. Go to developer options - background check and then block all useless apps that needn't run in background.

Mainly block play services.

2. Reboot device and now check idle drain. If it is still bad then continue with below steps.

3. Install latest beta version of Arm64 play services apk from apk mirror. Reboot.

This should fix drain. If still not satisfied.

4. Install bbs and check any alarms or sensors going rogue.

Sensors will stabilize after few cycles. So don't worry.

In case of huge alarms, use alarm blocker from Xtended settings - Xtra - alarm blocker.

Because careful. Seek help before blocking alarms /    wakelocks.

A complete guide to real clean flash

Download minimal ADB and fastboot binaries.

Install usb drivers of your device.

Download custom recovery image of your device. Treble supported devices need to download treble supported recovery.

Switch off the phone. Press power+volume down to enter fastboot mode. Connect it to pc.

Right click while holding shift in the ADB and fastboot folder. Click 'open command window here'.

Type fastboot devices and confirm if your phone is connected properly. If a device shows up, it's yours.

Copy the recovery image to the adb and fastboot folder and rename it recovery.

Next step only for Snapdragon chipset users. Mediatek devices have problems while using this command. Skip this step if you don't plan to erase everything from the phone.

Type fastboot -w
This wipes out your entire partition including internal storage.

Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Then fastboot boot recovery.img

As the phones boots into recovery. Internal storage will be accessible on the pc. Copy the ROM, gapps and lazy flasher.

Click install on the phone and click on the ROM zip. Then click on add files and click on gapps. Then add lazyflasher.

Swipe to flash. Wipe dalvik/cache once completed. Reboot system.

Enjoy the new OS on a clean device.
