Тут важный момент, что наставники не проверяют работы ребят и проекты - это делают код-ревьюеры + не составляют учебную программу (она есть в онлайн-тренажере). А за всякими дедлайнами и расписанием студентов следят кураторы, т.е. наставничество - это не преподавание в прямом смысле
