Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanyan leaves the board of directors.
On his twitter, Ohanyan anounced his resignation and adviced the company take a black candidate in his place. He will use future earnings from his Reddit shares to serve the black community mainly “to curb racial hatred” and promises to allocate $ 1 million to the Colin Kapernik’s camp “Know Your Rights”.
Earlier this week, former Reddit president Ellen Pao tore up current company CEO Steve Huffman for “reinforcing” racism and hatred.
She said that Huffman was supposed to remove the Reddit channel for Donald Trump's supporters, called r / the donald, instead of “reinforcing him and hatred, racism and violence. Much of what's happening right now is at your feet ”she tweeted.
The company will make short-term and long-term decisions to contain hatred on the platform as the current political climate puts pressure on it.
