там в доке к самому слику вроде видел пример для разной высоты

Задача какая?

Чтобы высота контейнера со слайдами была адаптивная. Уже на втором проекте пробую слик и он высоту контейнера умножает на 2 относительно высоты изображения. не могу понять почему

Так не помогает, например

а без js высота нормальная?

Без какого js?

Нашел проблему. У контейнера media--slick из коробки стоит padding-bottom от 40+% и он и добавляет странную высоту. Отменил этот паддинг и адаптивная высота заработала

У меня вроде всегда такая кнопка была.

Наверное они ноды или комменты считают.

A user gets 'Community user' role automatically once they:

have 'Confirmed user' role,
have registered more than 3 months ago,
reach certain amount of community participation.

d.org хорошее место для спама. Там есть куча мест куда годами никто не заглядывает.
