Какая-то странная история — я недавно сам ковырялся в источниках для этого поста, про «пытались допилить C++ и в итоге отказались» видел, но в причинах отказа про память не было

но вообще, в интервью, Гослинг говорил, что для embedded java - пушка, и GC вообще не мешает, так как памяти мало

но мне реально печально наблюдать за java - как из интересных областей, типа той же робототехники, её область применимости свелась к унылым банковским серверам.

Ну на сколько понимаю в чипованных карточках типа Визы, там микро JVM крутится. Так что как то вроде заэмбедили.
