That was the tip that I was looking for.
In my case - I have the 'settings' button set up as 'long press' to bring up the TV's "Input List" - and once it is showing on screen - then using the same 'long press' on the remote's settings button - to navigate the input list.
So for me - to switch over to Antenna on the TV is now done with the Shield remote - and to swtich back to HDMI - the same.
One less reason to have the TV remote nearby.

но так оно будет работать только если конкретный ТВ переключает входы циклически по нажатию Input 😉 Далеко не все ТВ так делают 😉
