The following criteria must be met in order to be eligible for this programme:
Applicant is a third country national (not a Maltese, EU, EEA or Swiss national);
A non-refundable contribution of €30,000 must be paid to the Government authorities;
Investment of €250,000 in Government bonds (which need to be held for a minimum of 5 years, following which they may be sold);
Applicant needs to either purchase or lease a property:
Purchase a property for a minimum value of not less than €320,000 for a property situated in the North of Malta, or €270,000 for a property situated in Gozo or South of Malta, which needs to be held for a minimum of five years;
Should the applicant opt to rent, the property must have a minimum annual rental value of €12,000 if situated in the North of Malta, or €10,000 for a property situated in Gozo or South of Malta, which needs to be held for a minimum of five years;
Provide an affidavit stating that the applicant has an annual income of at least €100,000 arising outside of Malta, or, has capital of not less than €500,000;
Applicant must be in possession of valid travel documents;
Applicant must be in receipt of stable and regular resources which are sufficient to maintain himself and his dependents (if applicable);
Applicant must be in possession of a health insurance policy
