Are you looking for a programming language to learn? What are your intentions then? Wanna get your first job, or wanna get a better job, or just widening your worldview? F# is tightly coupled with dotnet as it is, that’s definitely a fateful decision to take when you are at the beginning of the learning curve.

I desire to widen my perspective.
I do not have any formal IT education.

I just want to leverage my knowledge.

If you want to program for money, you have to choose one mainstream language and stick to it for as long as it takes to learn it more or less deeply and get a job.

I mean, you don’t need many general purpose programming languages in hand to get a job and be useful in some way; that’s why such languages are referenced as “general purpose”. Each of them is completely sufficient to solve real world problems.

I once have a good business in 2019, but drop miserably since covid.

I do not want to waste my time, so I learn many thing from accounting, tax, to programming. And I learn a lot about web development.

I haven't decide what to do with my skill. Maybe I just want to do something else. While still doing my business, which slowly rise again.

The thing is, I do not have IT background. So whenever I meet young people in a group. I feel like, a retarded person who does not know about anything.

So this time, I decide to invest most of my time to learn from the very basic. The programming language itself. Maybe from here I can have perspective what each programming language can do.

And go deep later, if I need to.

There was a time, that I got bullied because I don't know about algorithm and such.

So I learn.

Many people here don’t have none formal background in IT and yet managed to build successful careers and had moved abroad or declined relocation offers. That’s not a must-have requirement, not at all, more than that - it won’t harm your salary (as long as you are good problem solver of course).

And the other (quite important) problem - you barely able to foresee the difference between arbitrary programming languages at this point. It comes with experience and practice. I bet you are developing false harmful sense of them at the moment, mostly grounded upon what other people (programmers?) say about it somewhere in the web. In takes efforts to get to the point where you start to pick right tool for a right job.
